 ISSUE 49 February 2007
The Warren Centre thanks all its Volunteers

The Warren Centre achieves results because two hundred or so dedicated individuals give their time and intellect to carry out the basic work needed to identify worthwhile projects, promote these projects to relevant organisations, gain the necessary funding support, and attract participation and commitment from recognised experts in the field. When that core volunteer group get a project off the ground there can be almost as many people again who give their time to make the project a success.
We, the Centre’s board and core staff, salute you and thank you for your outstanding contribution to the success of the Centre, and to the community generally through projects which address some of the major challenges facing Australia.

Each year there are a small number of volunteers whose dedication and commitment to The Warren Centre is exceptional. We cannot hope to provide any adequate reward for that commitment but I take great pleasure in recognising them and thanking them. In 2006 the following people received Warren Centre Volunteer Awards:

Keith Bashford for his work on the Low Energy High Rise project.

Adjunct Associate Professor Sandy Booth, Dr Bruin Christensen, Peter Fagan and Don Hector for their work developing a water project.

Sandy Longworth for his leadership of Steel - Framing the Future and the Energy Essay project.

Chris James, John Phillips and Dr Peter Seebacher for their work on The Role of ICT in Enhancing K-12 Educational Outcomes.

Richard Walker for his work on 10,000 Friends of Greater Sydneyฎ.

Despite this excellent support, the Centre is always in need of more people to help it achieve even more. We have opportunities for people with many skill sets! If you would like to become more involved in the Centre and its activities please call me on (02) 9351 4048 or email me at r.mitchell@eng.usyd.edu.au to let me know and we can figure out what suits your interests best.
